Top 10 family outings for under $15
Because we have another rock star making his first ever appearance on June 6 of this year, we’ve been trying to save as much as possible. Check out my top 10 list of family outings in Metro Vancouver for under $15 (in no particular order).
A non-busy outdoor activity for the whole family. Adults $5, children under two are free. Oh, and birdseed is $1 a bag.
2. Maplewood Farm – North Vancouver
Admission is a little expensive (adults: $7.70, children: $4.65), but on the plus side, you can get up close and personal with the animals. Watch out for the goats.
3. Play Abby – Abbotsford
Perfect indoor play area for various ages. $6 for children seven months to four years. Adults are free.
4. Maple Ridge & Pitt Meadows Leisure Centre – Maple Ridge
I took Layla to the play area in the gym every Wednesday for $1. We also signed her up for swim lessons for $15.
5. Jo Jos Play Zone – Maple Ridge
Another great indoor play centre that offers Toonie Tuesdays for children six months to nine years.
6. Burnaby Village Museum – Burnaby
So many things to check out, and children can enjoy a fantastic carousel ride ($2.55) Gate admission is free. This place is seasonal though, so check out their site before you head out.
7. Kids Market – Granville Island, Vancouver
Sensory overload! This place has free admission, although good luck not indulging the little ones! There’s also an adventure indoor play centre to check out.
8. Jerry Sulina Park – Pitt Meadows/Maple Ridge
This is a fantastic park for a free family outing. It has a great dyke trail for walking and an off-leash dog park with pond and river access.
9. Krause Berry Farms – Langley
Yes another farm, but this one has hay rides!
10. White Rock/Crescent beach – White Rock/Surrey
Another great, free activity for the whole family (unless you splurge on ice cream). Crescent also has an off-leash dog area for swimming.
As a side note, if you’re having trouble coming up with more ideas, I recommend downloading the Meetup App on your phone. You can join parent groups that schedule free community events each week.
